A leader in the natural resources and environmental sciences, our Department focuses its research, academics and outreach on remote sensing/geographic information systems and water, air, forests, fisheries and wildlife resources. The goal is to renew, manage and conserve our planet's limited natural resources.

David B. Schroeder, 80, of Woodstock Valley, Professor Emeritus and former Department Head, died unexpectedly Monday morning, October 26, 2015 of natural causes. “Doc” was truly one-of-a-kind, loved by students and colleagues. He will be missed by us all. Gifts can be made to the David B. Schroeder Scholarship fund, providing scholarship support for University students who are seniors enrolled full-time in the University's College of Agriculture, Health and Natural Resources.
